Puerto Vallarta is a great place to relax and explore. If you stay at an all inclusive resort, you will have plenty of activities available on the property including non-motorized water sports, daily pool activities, and more. My top recommendations outside of your resort are:
Flight from Chicago to Puerto Vallarta
There are a number of affordable flight options to Puerto Vallarta in February. The cheapest options are on American Airlines and they have nonstop options. Nonstop roundtrip tickets from February 18th - February 23 and are $490 per person. Usually I recommend booking directly with the airline, but if you are heading to an all-inclusive I find the best deals on sites like Expedia. When you book a package (Flight + Hotel) together, the hotels usually cover a portion or all of the flight.
Hotel Recommendations
The hotels below are my recommendation in the Puerto Vallarta. These two resorts offer slightly different experiences and vary based on your budget.
Delta Hotels by Marriott Riviera Nayarit: This all inclusive resort is a Marriott property, so those that are part of their loyalty program can use/earn points during their stay. This is a unique property as it is located in the mountains and feels like a jungle paradise. The property does have a beach, but you will need to take the free shuttle to get to it. The beach is fully setup with loungers and everything you need. The jungle feel from the pools, rooms and restaurants is amazing.

Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa: Located on the beach, Garza Blanca offers everything you want for your stay at an all-inclusive resort. This beautiful resort has 3 pools, multiple restaurants and direct beach access.

Getting Around Puerto Vallarta
The best way to get around the Riviera Maya area is to book private transportation.
Airport transportation varies from $30-$40 per person roundtrip depending on the hotel you choose.
